Realme has increased the prices of the phone due to the recent increase in GST in smartphones. As a result, most of the Realme phone prices have been affected, and there has been an increase of Rs. 1000 on the newly launched Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro phones. The GST has been increased from 12 percent to 18 percent by the Indian Government. This will come in effect from 1st April, Wednesday, and many companies like Apple, Xiaomi, Vivo, and Oppo have also revised their prices after the hike in GST. The cost of Realme X2 Pro will remain unchanged, but there will be a hike of Rs. 1000 in the price of Realme X2.
The outbreak of coronavirus has lead to an increase in the price of components, and there have been shortage of supplies. Due to all these reasons, Realme has hiked the prices of its smartphones.
The price of Realme 6 in India for the 4 GB Ram +64 GB storage model is Rs. 13,999, for 6 GB Ram + 64 GB storage model is Rs. 15,999 and for 8 GB Ram + 128 GB storage variant is Rs. 16,999. At Rs. 17,999 the Realme 6 Pro of 6GB RAM + 64 GB storage has been priced while the 6GB RAM + 128 GB Storage variant has been priced at Rs. 18,999 and at Rs. 19,999 8GB + 128 Storage option is available.It has been the first price hike since H2 2018 that Realmehas done.
Even the price of the Realme 5i, which was launched in January, has been increased; which now starts at Rs. 9,999 (price hike of Rs.1000). Also, the price of Realme C3 that was launched a month later was increased by Rs. 500 only, and the pricing is now starting at Rs. 7,499. The price of Realme X2 is hiked by Rs. 1000, but the price of Realme X2 pro has remained unchanged. But the price of Realme X2 Pro Master Edition has increased by Rs. 2000, and its currently priced at Rs. 36,999. The prices have been raised by Rs. 1000 for the old phones like Realme 5, Realme 5s, Realme 5 Pro, Realme X, and Realme XT.
