Samsung Galaxy S20 Series and Z Flip Open for Pre-Registrations in India

Samsung launches Galaxy S20, S20+, S20 Lite and Z Flip globally, devices to be available in global market starting from 6 March.

Samsung is on a tear with its new range of Galaxy smartphones. It is launching no less than 4 new models in the mid-to-high Galaxy range. These are the Galaxy S20, S20+, S20 Lite and Z Flip. All of these models have generated quite a lot of hype and many are expecting the devices to push the expectations on smartphones.

At present, the Galaxy S20, S20+, S20 Ultra and Z Flip are available for pre-registration. You will need to provide your name, email address, mobile number and pin code details. Here are some of the key details available on all of these models.

Samsung is aligning all of its model prices in India with the US. This means they are very likely to remain roughly the same. All the S20 models will go on sale worldwide from the 4th of March. The Z Flip will be available to buyers from February 14th.

The unique part about the Samsung Galaxy S20 series is its 5G capabilities. This is why it has made significant waves in the market and will debut with a lofty price tag of USD999 on retail. This price is only for the entry-level models. The Z Flip itself will be going for USD1380.

Body Specs

From the technical side, the S20 series will have some features in common. They will sport the Android 10 platform with Samsung’s One UI running above it. The Z Flip will have a  They will also sport features like Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O Display offering 120Hz refresh rate.

Display and Processor Specs

The S20 will sport a 6.2-inch QHD+ (1440×3200 pixels) panel, the S20+ has a 6.7-inch QHD+ panel and the S20 Ultra will offer a 6.9-inch QHD+ panel. The Z Flip will have a 6.07-inch full-HD (1080×2636 pixels, 21.9:9, 425ppi) foldable Dynamic AMOLED panel with a 1.1 inch Super AMOLED cover display. For the processor, all the three models will run on either Exynos 990 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. Meanwhile, the Z Flip sports the Octa-core SoC along with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. This will come with 16GB RAM for a smooth performance. The Exynos 990 variants will be available for purchase in India.

Optics Specs

The S20 sports three rear cameras with 2 12-mpxl ultra-wide shooters lenses and a 64-mpxl tertiary sensor with an f/2.0 telephoto lens. The S20+ offer DepthVision sensor in addition to the three lenses. The S20 Ultra has four rear cameras including 108-mpxl wide-angle shooter with phase-detection autofocus (PDAF) along with OIS and f/1.8 lens. The second camera is a 48-mpxl telephoto shooter with f/3.5 lens, 12-mpxl ultra-wide shooter, and a DepthVision camera.

The S20 and S20+ have a 10-mpxl selfie camera while the S20 Ultra has a 40-mpxl selfie camera. The S20 Ultra it comes with a dual rear camera setup that has a 12-megapixel sensor with a wide-angle lens. The Z Flip will have a 12-megapixel secondary sensor offering ultra-wide angle lens as well as a 10-megapixel selfie camera.
