The Festival of Dussehra, Vijaya Dashami is being celebrated today across the country with fever. This festival of Dussehra is also known as Vijay Dashmi, which marks the victory of good over evil and over untruth. Throughout the country this festival is being celebrated with religious fever.

PM Modi, President, Vice President and other top leaders has extended their greetings on the occasion of the festival to the people of country. This festival is being celebrated across the Jammu region today, which becomes the part of country after abrogation of article 370.

This festival is celebrated to mark the victory of Lord Ram, who killed Ravan on the Vijaya Dashami after Shakti Puja. In Indian Hindu tradition Shakti Puja is done after nine-day Navratri ritual. The programme of Ravan Dahan also held in the evening in the various parts of country.

The festival is also celebrated to mark the killing of Mahishasura by Mahadevi Durga. Mahadevi Durga killed Mahishasura on the day of Dussehra after a ten-day intense war.

In Delhi many places Ravan Dahan programme was organized where thousands of people came to see the Ravan Dahan and celebrate victory of Lord Ram over Ravan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended Dussehra celebrations in Delhi. He participated in Ravan Dahan program at Delhi’s Dwarka sector 10. Delhi BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari and West Delhi MP Parvesh Sahib Singh were also took part in the Dussehra celebrations at Delhi’s Dwarka sector 10.

“Greetings on the auspicious occasion of #VijayaDashami,” Prime Minister Modi tweeted on his Twitter account and provided a link of his past visit in Dussehra event.

Prime Minister Modi address the people and he said “Lakshmi in our house. In Mann ki Baat, I had said Lakshmi is in house, our area… our daughters are manifestations of Lakshmi.”

The President extended their greeting on the occasion of Dussehra, he said “I extend my warm greetings and good wishes to all my fellow citizens and wish them success, prosperity and happiness. This festival is a celebration of the triumph of truth over untruth.”

In CR Park of Delhi, Durga puja celebrations are underway with full religious fever. The CR Park Durga Puja is well known as one of the best Durga pujas in Delhi. The Durga Puja here is a major attraction every year as this place is famously known as mini-Kolkata. Here people are celebrating Durga Puja with perfect mix of native culture and color.
