Things You Should Know For the Launch Of Disney+ Hotstar In India

Disney+ the video streaming service has been finally launched in India by Disney. The service has been launched in the country as Disney+ Hotstar, and it brings the best content of two streaming video platforms to the users in India.

Simply said, the Indian Hotstar users will now be able to watch movies and TV shows that were already available in addition to Disney’s original content, among other things.

Mr. Uday Shankar – President of The Walt Disney Company APAC and Chairman, Star & Disney India, issued a statement saying that as they unveil Disney+ Hotstar, they have taken yet another momentous phase in staying committed to their promise of delivering high- quality, impactful stories for India that have not only interested but also made a difference in the people’s life. They anticipate that Disney’s storytelling presented through Hotstar technology will help its viewers find moments of solace and inspiration during difficult times.

Following the launch of Disney+ Hotstar in India, here are the following things you need to know

Starting from now, Hotstar will be available in three tiers – Disney+ Hotstar VIP, Disney+ Hotstar Premium, and an ad-supported basic tier.

Earlier Hotstar VIP was charged at Rs. 365 a year. Disney+ Hotstar VIP will now cost Rs. 399 a year for the subscribers. In this tier, the subscribers will be able to stream movies and shows from Marvel Cinematic Universe, popular Disney movies, and Superhero movies in addition to the Hotstar VIP content.

Earlier Hotstar premium, which was charged Rs. 999 a year, but now Disney+ Hotstar VIP will cost Rs. 1499 a year to the subscribers. In this tier, the subscriber will be given access to the 29 critically acclaimed Disney+ Originals, latest American shows from the studio like Fox, HBO, and Showtime.

The subscribers who have already subscribed to the Hotstar plan, their account will be upgraded to the corresponding new subscription plan. The new rates will be implemented for the new subscribers.

The platform will be updated so that there will be separate Disney+ section, which helps the subscribers to navigate through the contents of Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, and National Geographic easily. Parents will be able to navigate through the kids-safe mode to access age-appropriate content for the kids.
